Foliq is built on honesty — and that has to include how we treat your data. Here's exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we never do. No 40-page legalese.
Foliq gives you an educational AI read of your hair using photos you provide. It estimates a Norwood stage and offers general information so you can make better decisions.
Foliq is not a doctor and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our read is informational only. Always consult a licensed healthcare professional before starting, stopping, or changing any treatment. Individual results vary, and no outcome is guaranteed.
Your photos are sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to produce your read, and to our server to return the result. We never publish, sell, or share your photos, and we don't use them to advertise. Your before/after images for personal tracking are stored on your own device (in your browser), not on our servers, and that stays true even if you sign in: we never store your photos.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Photos are processed to create your read and are not retained on our servers afterward. If you provide your email, we keep it to send your plan and follow-ups until you ask us to delete it. Your on-device tracking history stays on your device and is cleared if you clear your browser data, unless you sign in, in which case your results (not photos) are also saved to your account.
A Foliq account is created with your email address and a magic link. There is no password to choose, forget, or leak. When you tap the link we email you, your device stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in on that device; signing out or clearing your browser storage removes it. Ask us and we will delete your account and everything attached to it.
If you sign in, we store your scan results (stage, zones, scores, heatmap coordinates) on our servers so you can compare month to month. We never store your photos. Your photos are used to produce a read and are gone from our side once the read is written. The photo thumbnails you see in your own timeline live on your device only.
Membership is billed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us only whether your subscription is active, plus the email and customer reference needed to match it to your account. Cancel anytime from Manage membership, which opens Stripe's own billing portal.
We send three kinds of email and nothing else: your sign-in link when you request one, the plan or follow-up you asked for, and at most one reminder every 30 days when it is time for your next scan. Every reminder carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the reminders while leaving your account and your sign-in links working.
Foliq is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
By using Foliq you agree that the read is educational, not medical advice; that you're responsible for decisions you make about your health; and that Foliq, its operators, and its partners aren't liable for outcomes resulting from use of the information. We may update or improve the service over time.
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
